About Test Prep Mom
Keith and Kati Johnson founded Test Prep Mom during the summer of 2015. What began as a private undertaking became public when we started sharing our family’s ACT prep journey. Our oldest son had just scored in the 98th percentile of all test takers and earned a full-tuition merit scholarship to college.
From 2015 to 2020, I taught limited-sized classes, 20 students or fewer at a time. During those five years, I taught over 3000 students in 250 classes. We launched the Online ACT Class during the pandemic and resumed in-person teaching in 2021. Since then, I’ve perfected my teaching methods and launched in-person SAT Classes in 2026. The Online SAT Class launched in September 2026.
Keith manages the online class, the online registration program, and the website. I speak, teach, encourage, and counsel. He has a Master’s Degree in Ministry from Moody Bible Institute and a Ph.D. in Educational Leadership from Columbia International University, and I have my Master’s Degree in Counseling from Asbury Theological Seminary. As undergraduates, we graduated from Birmingham Southern College (ΣΝ) and The University of Kentucky (ΧΩ), respectively. We live in a small town outside of Lexington, Kentucky, and recently welcomed our first grandchildren—twin girls—in December 2023.
